Seriously Funny Apple products!!!!

I just came across these pics in one of my mails sent by a friend of mine, So I decided to post it...
This is just for fun.. Enjoy

MAC mini

I was completely in love with the iMac G5 at the end of the review, and it really hurt to see it go away. I wanted to save up and buy one, but seriously, paying Rs. 87,800 for a non-upgradable machine that doesn't even have a DVD burner is just not something I would be proud of. There are a lot of points to argue on this fact, but still, Rs. 87,800. Think about that for a moment. The economy option from Apple was the eMac - a past-generation Mac with a 1 GHz G4 processor and CRT monitor, that was lower priced than the higher end iMac G5. Even this eMac costs a disorienting Rs. 50,000. Almost half the price and great performing, but still too much money.

Then came the Mac Mini - the entire machine from CPU to motherboard to graphics card to a CD-writer in a tiny box the size of a car CD player head unit. This Mac comes with no keyboard, mouse, or monitor, which is what helps pull down the cost to almost half that of the eMac - Rs. 30,000. This is the number that made me think again about buying a Mac. Let's see if it made me run to the Mac shop at the end of the review...

They sent us the lower-end Mini which has a 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4 CPU with 256 MB DDR333 SDRAM. The lowest end eMac comes with a 1 GHz G4 and the iMac G5 boasts a 1.6 GHz G5, while both ship with the same amount of memory (but DDR400 in the iMac). The Mac Mini has an ATI Radeon 9200 graphics card with 32 MB memory, the same one in the eMac. The iMac G5 has an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra. The Mac Mini stuffs in a 40 GB Ultra ATA HDD, once again just like the eMac. The iMac offers 80 GB. The Mac Mini comes with a Combo drive (CD Writer and DVD-ROM), but the lowest-end eMac only comes with a CD-ROM drive. The higher-end Mac Mini has a 1.42 GHz G4 CPU with an 80 GB HDD.

Specifications wise, the the Mac Mini is quite comparably up to par with the eMac. So it wouldn't be too off track to say that the Mac Mini is essentially an eMac without the monitor, keyboard and mouse.

he Combo Drive is sleek slot loading and is placed on the front side of the Mac Mini. The drive is a Matshita CW-8123, 24X Write, 16X Re-Write, 24X Read, and 8X DVD-ROM drive. No matter what you say, I feel 24X write is slow in this day.

Palm has launched their Latest Treo 750

Palm has launched their latest piece, the Treo 750 Smartphone in India. You may think it’s just another Treo till you realize it doesn’t run on the ever popular Palm OS, but Windows Mobile. What they’ve done is opened the doors to consumers who could be Palm users for the first time and introduced them to the sophistication of the Palm Treo form factor and the versatility of Windows mobile.

The Treo 750 is not yet ready with Windows Mobile 6, since these are the initial stages of this collaboration. But we were informed it would be available for download shortly with no specific dates provided. The 750 is EDGE and 3G enabled with a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth with A2DP compatibility, Infrared and USB connectivity. The full QWERTY keypad offers shortcuts to applications and Palm and Microsoft have merged their OS and design in a seemingly efficient manner we can say with the short test we were allowed to conduct. Equipped with Windows Pocket PC applications you can view all MS documents and PDF files as well.

"Over 5 million Treo smartphones today are being used by companies and individuals around the world, and continuing to expand the Treo footprint is a key focus for Palm," said Sharon Ee, Head of Business, South Asia, for Palm, Inc. "India is an important market for Palm, and Treo smartphones are well poised to meet the growing demand by Indian consumers who want a compelling mobile-computing experience."

The Treo 750 is equipped with a 312mhz, Samsung processor. Unfortunately it has no Wi-Fi capability, but that option is available through a third party provider through a miniSD card that can be purchased separately. The inbuilt memory is 60MB with expansion capability through the same miniSD card slot. The 2.5 inch TFT Touchscreen sports a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels with 65K colors
At the moment it’s being offered through Palm’s tie up with Airtel but is available over the counter as well. If purchased with an Airtel subscription, the first month’s data subscription is free. As of now the Treo 750 is also available with a collapsible Bluetooth keyboard worth around Rs. 5,000. The Treo 750 is available for Rs. 26,990 and should be hitting stores by next week.

Good Things Come in small Packages!!!

It is a 50mm screen that delivers 320x240 resolution, a familiar white click wheel and, on the bottom edge, a sliding switch, a dock connector and an earphone jack.

Under the hood, it will have a 4GB or 8GB drive. The smaller capacity device will hold about 1000 songs, or 3500 photos or four hours of video. Double that, for the bigger one.

The iPod has already become one of the world's most successful consumer gadgets, commanding between 60 and 80 per cent of the digital music player market, depending on which figures you use.

iPod nano
$199 - 4GB - choice of one colour
$279 - 8GB - choice of five colours

The nano is yet another head-turning addition to a range that looks and feels great and now comes with many more features.

The designers of the first iPod famously threw away the concept of a dedicated on/off button and it's still missing - as is the FM radio function and remove-it-yourself batteries that you find in many other players.

The new model is wider and chunkier than its predecessor, a change forced upon the designers because of the need to accommodate the new video functionality previously found only in the larger, more expensive iPods.

However, it's probably better suited to viewing two- to four-minute-long music video clips than it is to watching full-length movies.

One big change to the interface is the addition of the Cover Flow feature that Apple brought out with the iPhone, which was launched in June. This allows you to flick

The nano also comes pre-loaded with a couple of games including a trivia quiz, a Minesweeper-type game and a solitaire game.

Microsoft Zune Ready to Grove..

Microsoft Corp cut the price of its Zune digital music player on Wednesday by $50 to $199 in an attempt to rev up sales of the device competing against Apple Inc's iPod.
Microsoft announced the price cut for the 30-gigabyte player on the Zune Insider blog run by one of its employees, just hours before Apple's news conference, where the company, as expected, updated its iPod lineup with new models.Microsoft said it had been planning the price cut "for months" and expects the lower price to lure new customers. The world's largest software maker faces a herculean task in taking on Apple in digital music players, a category defined by its iPod, which has sold over 100 million units since its introduction in October 2001.Microsoft introduced the Zune last year, touting its capabilities to share music wirelessly. With only the 30-GB model, Microsoft met its target to sell more than 1 million units before the end of June.Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft is expected to introduce different Zune models before the holiday season. A Microsoft executive said Tuesday the company had nothing to announce at this time, but said its plan over time is to offer new Zune models and roll out the devices in new markets.

The Rock Solid Moto Razr2

After the success of the RAZR series of phones, Motorola is back (and killing it too!) with the RAZR2 V8. Globally – and I'm quoting official company sources here – the phone has sold around 100 million RAZRs already.
My impression of the phone wasn’t far from the general gasps I got from friends and people around me.

The phone does take the design bit to the next level, with a sturdy form factor and a beautiful, good-to-look-at and shiny exterior. If you watch a lot of TV, you must have already seen the phone being used sort of like a mini-Blackjack in the ad. For once, it’s not really an exaggeration. It’s rock solid, and can be used as a weapon. (Girls, pay attention!)

The clamshell form factor includes a stainless steel frame with metal and glass housing, all put together with a chemically hardened glass. At 103 x 53 x 11.9 mm, it’s really slim, so if you're out to make a style statement, consider it done!!

It’s surprising that the company saw fit to keep the screen so compact, when the body itself is big enough to accommodate a larger screen. However, it’s a 256K color screen capable of supporting 240 x 320 pixels. The external screen is a 2-inch display, and the bottom portion works as a touchscreen while playing music. For the buttons, diamond-cut technology has apparently been employed, what with metal hinges to make the flip action that much more reliable and long-lasting. You may need to establish your own rhythm, as the groove between the fold requires one to lodge the tip of the finger to yank it open. There’s just no other way!

SONY's New MP3 Walkman

This player features a USB direct connect, a three-line color LCD display, an FM tuner with radio recording capabilities, and a voice recorder function with a built-in microphone.Weighing 30g, the NWD-B100 connects directly to the computer through a USB port without the problems of cables. The Sony MP3 player adopts the drag-and-drop interface for music and file transfer without any software installation.

This software automatically searches for and transfers the most recently added tracks from your PC to your MP3 Walkman. It’s also compatible with Sony’s mini/micro hi-fi system speakers via USB.
